Manali - Zanskar - Leh Cycling Itinerary

Overview:
This rare and adventurous route from Manali to Leh through the remote Zanskar and Suru valleys is for the explorer at heart. It combines the best of high-altitude Himalayan cycling with cultural immersion, taking you off the usual route and into some of the most untouched landscapes of Ladakh. This itinerary is carefully designed to balance challenge and enjoyment, considering acclimatization, daily distances, and road gradients.
What makes this route truly special is its novelty—until just a few years ago, the path from Manali to Padum was a renowned trekking trail, accessible only on foot. Now, thanks to the new connectivity via Shinkun La, this route is rideable for the first time. Zanskar is on the verge of transformation: from isolated, rural mountain communities to villages just beginning to experience the impact of tourism and infrastructure development. Despite the change, the region remains raw and deeply authentic, offering a rare glimpse into Ladakh before it fully evolves.
